Color Assignment

For this assignment we were asked to look at forecast color trends for an upcoming season and how those would play into designs for a category we were assigned. My partner and I created this board through the use of Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Publisher.

This assignment helped to show me how far ahead the planning for product design goes as well as how to create a trend board.

Product Line Development

For this assignment, we were to create a line in a category of our choice. We chose uniforms and designed a line of nursing scrubs that both enhanced the function and style of traditional scrubs.

This assignment gave me a look into all the details necessary in product development. What would be the best fabric choice, what properties would enhance the fabrics performance most, where should we source production, what are the trending colors, what pocket placement is most efficient for nurses? These were all questions we had to consider through our project. I also learned about tech packs and how they are vital in communicating with the manufacturing.
